AMTME 2026



From April 24 to 26, 2026, the 13th International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Materials Engineering (AMTME 2026) was successfully held at the Yifu Science Museum on the Wushan Campus of South China University of Technology. The conference was jointly organized by the School of Light Industry Science and Engineering of South China University of Technology, the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Paper and Paper‑Based Materials, and the Printing Technology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Image and Graphics. It attracted numerous experts and scholars from domestic and international universities, research institutions, and enterprises.

Opening Ceremony

On the morning of April 25, the conference opening ceremony was held at the Yifu Science Museum. Professor Peng Xinwen, Dean of the School of Light Industry Science and Engineering at South China University of Technology, presided over the opening ceremony. Zhang Jiangong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, delivered a welcome address, extending a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, experts, and scholars who traveled from afar, and introduced the latest progress of the university and the school in the fields of advanced manufacturing technology and materials engineering.

Keynote Speech

A total of five high-level keynote reports were arranged at the conference. First, Professor Liu Huanbin, former President of South China University of Technology and Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Engineering, delivered a report entitled "Research, Development and Application of Industrial AI Technology", in which he shared the research progress and practical application cases of industrial artificial intelligence in manufacturing processes.

Professor Chen Guangxue, Second-level Professor at the School of Light Industry Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology and Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Engineering, delivered a report entitled "Advanced Manufacturing in Printing and Its Applications in Flexible Electronics and Functional Materials", showcasing innovative achievements of printing manufacturing in fields such as color 3D printing, flexible electronics, and intelligent sensing.

Professor Huang Han, Director of the Engineering Department and Dean of the School of Advanced Manufacturing at Sun Yat-sen University, delivered a report entitled "AI-Driven Transformation in Advanced Manufacturing: From Process Prediction to Machining Optimization", sharing application cases of AI in abrasive machining process optimization and tool wear monitoring.

Professor Zhang Zhenyu, the dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Donghua University and a specially-appointed professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program, delivered a report titled "Key Technologies and Series of Equipment for Rare Earth Atomic-level Polishing of Complex Components", introducing new methods, processes and equipment for energy field-assisted chemical mechanical polishing. The related achievements have been applied in key fields such as aerospace and aviation.

Professor Liu Xiaogang from Wuhan University of Technology delivered a report entitled "Intelligent Vehicle Inspection Robot System Based on Multi-Source Perception and Collaborative Planning", showcasing the innovative design of a mobile robot collaborative intelligent vehicle inspection system.

In the afternoon, the research team of Associate Professor Liu Zhengxian from Harbin Institute of Technology delivered an invited report entitled "Mechanical Behavior of Shape Memory Polymer Composites and Their Space Deployable Structures", while the research team of Associate Researcher Luo Lan presented a report entitled "Shape Memory Polymers Based on Crosslinking Network Structure Design".

The Printing Technology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Image and Graphics organized a sub‑forum on "Advanced Printing Manufacturing and New Materials", which invited experts from Xi’an University of Technology, South China University of Technology, Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, and China Academy of Printing Technology to give featured presentations. The topics covered included online detection of printing image defects, printing manufacturing of paper‑based rapid detection chips, a self‑assessment model for digital and intelligent capabilities in the printing industry, and the current status and future of digitalization and intelligence in the printing industry.

In addition, scholars from multiple universities, including South China University of Technology, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beihang University, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Guangxi Normal University, Guilin University of Electronic Technology, and Henan University of Technology, delivered oral presentations showcasing their latest research achievements in fields such as advanced manufacturing, smart materials, sensors, and laser processing.
